Prasad sent this link to me. So sad. I saw him live once with Newman and Dief in Detroit at the Magic Stick. May he rest in peace...

Well, the first day of classes went well. I got into TC 342 like I was hoping. I was on the waiting list and was told if I went to class and someone else who was supposed to be there didn't show up, I could have their spot. Well, there was an opening. The next challenge though was to get from section 003 (which would cause a conflict in my schedule but I was let into) to section 002. Luckily one guy in the class wanted section 001 and had 002, another guy wanted 003 and had 001, and I had 003 and wanted 002. So we did a switch-a-roo (that's a real MSU term...ya right) and ba-da-boom, ba-da-bing I was in TC 342! TC 342 is basically a video production class. I am excited for it.

My other classes are: TC 346, HST 306, COM 240, and TC 375. TC 346 is media design (website development) which shouldn't be too tough; HST 306 is Modern United States history which not only seems cool, but I have also had the professor before and he is a neat and real nice guy; COM 240 I haven't been to yet because it starts tomorrow (tomorrow for me right now but actually today, Tuesday); and TC 375 I haven't been to yet either because it starts on Wednesday. I might drop COM 240 because with it I have 18 credits in my schedule. TC 342 and 346 require a lot of outside the classroom work and with that, 18 credits, and working at core3, I think I might end up killing myself! We will see though. I only need 29 credits to graduate which for all you non-math people is an average of 14.5 per semester...so 18 this semester might be excessive. :-) I will post my schedule to the site though once I get it finalized in case anyone really cares to know where I am during the day.

I went to my TC 346 professor's website and I followed a link to a project he is working on called the Bink Winkelman Variety Hour. You really need to check out this one scene from the show though because it's not only decently funny but extremely creative.

Anyway, I should hit the hay now. Tomorrow I will be back in Oakland County for some work during the day and then back here for my 3:00 PM class. Until next time...

Thought this was kinda neat.

This is from an old Great Lakes IT report, but still worth posting:

MSU STUDY: KIDS WHO SPEND MORE TIME ONLINE DO BETTER IN SCHOOL -- So much for all that "dark dungeons of the Internet" junk. A new study from Michigan State University shows Internet use has no negative effects on users' social involvement or psychological well-being -- and that Web use actually increases children's grade point averages and standardized test scores! The study, called HomeNetToo, observed how low-income families use the Internet at home. "We found no evidence that using the Internet at home reduces social contacts or undermines communication with family or friends," said Linda A. Jackson, professor of psychology at MSU and a principal investigator on the recently completed three-year study. "Adult participants who used the Internet more were no more likely to communicate less with family and friends, participate in social groups, become depressed or to experience hassles or stress due to time conflicts than those who used it less, or not at all." As for children, Jackson said, those "who spent more time online using the Web performed better in school after one year than those who spent less time online. It appears that the text-based nature of most Web pages is causing children to read more, resulting in improvements in grade point averages and performance on standardized tests of reading achievement."

Posted more Emma pictures Scott sent over a while back. Boy is she cute!

This past weekend was welcome weekend at MSU. I don't have too many pictures, but I have posted the ones I do have. Enjoy! Now it's time for bed. I have a long day of classes that start tomorrow. I will honestly try to update more, thing have just been soooo busy lately though. Adios...

I know, I know...it sure has been a while since my last post. But between viruses, blackouts, and more viruses, life has been pretty chaotic.

Last weekend was Megan Smith's wedding (surprised there is no link to pictures there? well, I spent most of the night taking videos which I am editing into a wedding video for them. I think I have like two pictures which aren't worth posting) and the weekend after that was groUPnorth 2003 (yes, the pictures are finally posted...all 213 of them!!!).

The wedding went very well and was an absolute blast! We danced the night away and Matt even showed us his "short pants dance".

groUPnorth 2003 was also an awesome time! Gotta unpack my room some more now though as I am moving back to MSU. TTYL...

Oh yeah, I remember something else I was going to say. So as a result of this past weekend at Higgins Lake, I now have 40+ mosquito bites on my legs alone. That's all.

Well, the family reunion went off without a hitch and the weather was almost perfect! I think we saw maybe two hours of rain the whole weekend and the rest was sunny and beautiful. I posted pictures of course.

About four hours ago I had lots to talk about but now I am too tired and can't remember crap. I did find some fun stuff on the Internet earlier while clicking around though. Friendster seems like a neat way to meet people. I always say, that's the best way of getting to meet new people, is through their friends. To learn more, check out this news story. The other cool site I came across is called MiniClip.com. I liked the Trial Bike game a lot but got really frustrated with it sometimes.

Anyway, if I remember what else is was I was going to talk about, I will post it later. Happy hump day!

Chris and I saw The Italian Job tonight. I think it was the first time ever just he and I have been to a movie together. It was a very special moment, ha ha! Anyway, not much else new. I am making some good headway on the new core|3 site previously mentioned and hopefully, hopefully (fingers crossed a googol times) will have it wrapped up this weekend and ready to launch on Monday.

Speaking of this weekend, it is almost here! While the forecast still calls for rain, who knows what will happen. My brother is stopped by Ogemaw to grab my wakeboard for me. I am super pumped to go wakeboarding behind the speedboat there. I also wanna try behind the WaveRunner. Supposedly there is going to be like fifty people there for the reunion. Let's just hope it doesn't rain too much! The count continues as this will be my sixth weekend in a row up north. :-)

Anyway, another long day or work ahead of me tomorrow. Time for bed. See ya KEITH!
