I had never seen the Lycos 50 with Aaron Schatz before and thought it was kinda neat. Hence the reason why I am sharing it...
I broke down and installed the Google Toolbar this morning. To be honest, I am glad I did it. It allowed me to easily add this post using Blogger and having the search area always available is extremely helpful. It also makes it easy to search products, images, stock prices, news, etc.! Now I sound like an ad. Anyway, check it out and think about downloading it. Oh, and it even has a pop-up ad stopper! Gotta love Google...

Yep, so today's my birthday. Happy birthday to me! It has been a wonderful weekend. Friday night we just layed low and got the house ready for the parents visit on Saturday. The Spartans played great and won against Iowa in their first Big Ten matchup of the season. After the game we had our families over to the house on Short Street for some grilling and good times. After the parents left we hung out and then went out to Harper's for the rest of the night. Good times!
Anyway, two other things to post here. First, Gorman posed the question this morning about why there is no Channel 1 on the TV and so I went on the Internet and found out why. Thought I'd share it with everyone else. Second thing is Caroline mentioned about the new twenty-dollar bill and I didn't know about it. So here's a link to that too because maybe someone else doesn't know about it. :-) That's all for now. Back to the birthday day... Friday, September 26, 2003
Well it's finally Friday! This week just seemed to fly by. School, work, school, work, school and now more work. Let me say before I forget, a special thanks goes out to Mary at CERB Associates for the lovely balloon (which ended up getting away from her before she could give it to me) and cake yesterday. The cake was just delicious and the balloon was...a nice gesture.
I was read an article online today about Joe Schmo. If you haven't seen the show, it's a pretty good article which tells you what's going on and more about it. I missed this week's show but hopefully I will remember to catch the re-run this Sunday at 8 PM. To end my post today, I suggest EVERYONE check this link out! If you've seen it already, don't go then. But this is by far the funniest thing I have seen in a while on the net. First watch the "Original Star Wars Kid" movie and then watch some of the popular clone videos. Totally OOC (Out Of Control)!!! Anyway, hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Should be a fun weekend. I will write more when I get a chance... Tuesday, September 23, 2003
Well, let's see, where'd we leave off...
Sunday night Jen and I headed down to Comerica Park for the BRUUUUUUUCE Springsteen concert. He is hard-core! Came out rockin' and just kept on going. He played a variety of his old and new tunes. Unfortunately we had to leave a bit early because I had a test to review for some more and some other work to get done before Monday officially began. Monday was the usual round of classes and Tuesday was the usual round of work here. I did finally get a chance to post some pictures from Partying in East Lansing and our Tailgating experience. Enjoy! I will also be posting more as soon as I find some time (hopefully this weekend). Back to work for now though... Sunday, September 21, 2003
Up north right now. We finally got our last weekend of wakeboarding in (really, pictures will be posted soon...honestly, ha ha!) and pulled the boat out of the water. Jen and I are taking it into Spicer's tomorrow to have it winterized. Tomorrow night we are heading to Comerica Park for the Bruce Springsteen concert. That should be fun.
So apparantly you can find out what your life is "rated". And apparently my life is rated R. I dunno. Seems kinda stupid to me but I thought I would post it anyway. See what your life is rated. That's all for now. I will write more Monday. ![]() Wednesday, September 17, 2003Tuesday, September 16, 2003
Gorman sent this to me. I thought it was neat, so I am posting it...

That's it, I'm calling it right now. I think Matt on Joe Schmo could be an actor too and they're fooling America, not Matt. We'll see though. A long day of work and I still need to study for my test tomorrow...

I thought I would post my wish list (to the left under References) in case anyone wanted to buy me something randomly. :-)
For the most part, an enjoyable weekend. It allowed me some time to catch up on my work, but I still didn't get everything done that I wanted to. Surprisingly, the Spartans lost in the last few minutes of the game (which sucked), but oh well.
I also came across this news story while trying to find the other one I just linked to which leads me to my previous conclusion that the City of East Lansing sucks. What makes them suck you ask? Well, first they ticket you for anything they can including putting too many people in an OVERPRICED house (nobody is ticketing the landlords for overpricing them, are they?), second. they say what you can and can't do with your property (are we living in the USSR?), and third, they SEND YOU TO JAIL for throwing a party!!! Ask any adult in the City of East Lansing if they partied when they were young and I am sure you will hear some pretty crazy stories. My point is, the city SUCKS and believe you me, as soon as I am done with college, I will never let another dime drop into their pockets. Bite me East Lansing! Phew, now that I got that off my chest I feel somewhat better, but let me rant about something else... So last night Jen and I went out to Champp's in East Lansing for dinner. I have been to Champp's many times in Troy and have enjoyed my experience, while it was Jen's first visit. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, which was fine considering there were about four football games on and everyone was there to watch them. Once we got a table though, it was all downhill from there. Rather than tell the whole long story, let me just list everything that was wrong with our experience there last night: Our appetizer was wrong; it came late; drinks took forever to get to us; when they finally got the appetizer right it came cold; my salad came mushy; we didn't have any silverware and when we did get some it was dirty; it took five minutes to get replacement silverware; they ran out of sirloin but waited until fifteen minutes after I ordered to tell me they were out; Jen's dinner was cold; and finally, the manager was a bitch when I talked to her about all this. Moral of the story, DON'T go to Champp's. I would say they deserve a second chance, but with the way the manager acted towards me (and I was in no way rude to her, honestly) I don't think they deserve a second chance. Okay, that's all. I should pay attention to class now I guess. We're going over web colors...whoopie. Seriously, I will post some pictures soon. Ha ha ha... Wednesday, September 10, 2003
Congratulations to Tom Gorman for landing a job at the Troy Sports Center! Nice job Tommy, way to finally get a job!
Oh look, gas prices are soooo cheap...NOT! Yeah right, $1.63 is cheap! Looks like the oil industry is now resorting to reverse psychology to get us thinking $1.63 is cheap. WELL IT'S NOT! They hike the price up to $1.89 and then when it gets like $0.20 or so below that, we think it is reasonable. People seem to forget no less than 3 months ago we thought $1.55 was high. Sheesh!
After a long day of traveling around the state yesterday working, I made it back in time to catch Joe Schmo and work some more. If you haven't seen Joe Schmo on Spike TV (formerly TNN), then I suggest you start watching. It is basically a reality TV show that is completely rigged and Matt, the guy who doesn't know it is rigged, buys into EVERYTHING! Pretty funny and entertaining. Anyway, I swear I am going to post oodles of pictures this weekend when I hopefully find some time to do it. Monday's and Wednesday's have been full with classes from 8 AM to 8PM and then on Tuesday and Thursday I have full work days. Not complaining, just stating a reason for my lack of picture posting. That's all for now though, I should probably post this because class is going to start in a few minutes. Until next time... Monday, September 08, 2003
Thought this lightning strike detector was kinda neat. Would be good for Mayer too since we all know God is out to get him!
This weekend was another nice one. Friday night was spent at the bar (yes, there are pictures, but to be posted when I have the time). We woke up Saturday with intention to go to the football game, but the sun was blaring and we never really made it. It looked good on TV though. Then upon Jen's suggestion, we decided to go up north. It was supposed to be 80 on Sunday and we both needed to get a little R&R in. We grabbed up Billy (who was visiting in EL), Heidi, and Chris and made our way up. Sunday was perfect and we got some more wakeboarding in! Pictures will be posted soon. Class is ending now. Gotta post this. I will write more later... I posted my schedule under the "references" section to the left. So if you're a stalker and curious where I am at during my school days, there ya go. :-)

Phew, what a weekend! It started out Friday morning with closing on the Alexander house. That's right, I am now a homeowner! Nic and two buddies are renting it from me for the next year. Then in the afternoon, Ryan and I interviewed possible technicians for core3. After that I headed back to EL to get ready for the tailgate the next morning.
Saturday morning was the tailgate at the tennis courts for the MSU vs. WMU football game. Nic, Chris, Jeremy and I all woke up at 4:00 AM to head out and wait in line to get a spot. I got some great pictures that I will hopefully be posting real soon. After recovering on Sunday, Billy, Chris, Jen and I headed up north to pull the boats out of the water and get in our "last hurrah" as the Sheriff called it when he pulled me over to tell me to calm down a bit. We got everything out of the water except for the pontoon and dock. The blue WaveRunner died for some reason so now I have to pull that into Hacker's some weekend to get looked at (yeah, in my spare time). And don't worry, I will be posting pictures from that soon too. Now we're back in East Lansing and I am just pooped (yep, I said pooped). I think it is time for bed so I can get an early start on the day tomorrow. I hope everyone else's weekend went just as well. Before I end this post though, I would just like to send out my condolences to the Ottney family. Brian Ottney passed away this weekend. I remember in fifth grade when he used to move the desk with his knee (because he was so big) and then blame it on Caroline saying she was playing footsie with him. He will be missed by many I am sure. |
