Also, I just noticed that Billy finally updated his site. Even though it's only one page, it's still great!
Read this Inc. Magazine article I picked up off of Ryan Shaltry's site yesterday. It is really an inspiring article for anyone in business or just anyone in general. If JetBlue flew out of Detroit, I wouldn't fly with anyone else. I know Prasad flies with them quite a bit. Anyway.

Remember when the popular thing was to send BlueMountain cards for every holiday/birthday imaginable? Now they charge for that crap. Ah yes, those were the days though...
Now this is a cool new feature from Google called Google Local. I typed in "pizza" for my search term and my zip code under the address and found all the local pizza shops with their addresses and numbers! It also pulled up menu's! Gotta love Google...

I got the biggest laugh of the day when I went to the newly designed WOW! Internet and Cable web site.
First of all, this is a company with THOUSANDS of customers. Second of all, they're supposed to be an INTERNET COMPANY?! HELLO?! I swear this site just teleported from the 80's, no joke. If you put your mouse over the little Java applet at the bottom of the main page, you'll even notice they're using an unregistered Java applet on the site! HOW FRIGGEN TACKY IS THAT?! They really need to fire the idiot who designed this one. In other news, the real reason I went to the site was to do some investigating. Apparently all users of WOW! Internet are unable to access our servers. Must be a DNS problem somewhere. Or maybe the doofus who designed this site also messed with the DNS servers and screwed that up too! Sheesh... Well, I refinanced my house today, and I will probably refinance it again in the next month or so. Interest rates are just so great right now that you can't pass it up!
In other news, I'm pushing 100,000 miles on my car. At last glance I was around 99,109. I was going to make a little odometer counter I would update every-so-often on my site here, but yeah, I don't have the time for that. In any event, I should probably get back to work. Just waiting for Ad-aware to finish running on my customer's computer here. This spyware crap could keep me in business alone! Late night soccer game tonight, more work tomorrow and then to Ann Arbor for the night to party with the boys. Who knows when I'll update next. Tuesday, March 23, 2004
It's been a pretty hecktic week so far, and I only have a few quick moments to make this post, but while I was here, I wanted to point out a DMAT Showacase video I just watched called "Cables". It's very well done. The claymation work is amazing. Major props to this guy! Anyway, working on a few projects along with studying for about three exams I have coming up in the next week. Ugh! Only 6 weeks left or so...

Well, I am obviously still alive and have made it back from Key West safely. The rest of the trip was a blast. My body is mad at me now for drinking so much last week and my white blood cells are on strike as I am now sick and running a slight fever. Oh well, just push on through it I guess. I have a pretty busy week with getting back into the groove of things for school and work. I have a lot of exams coming up next week that I need to start preparing for. But I should get to bed now so I can try and get better here. Of course, I will write again another time...

I bet this race would have been pretty funny to watch. I can just picture 15 robot drivers going crazy and driving backwards and stuff. Maybe that's just me though.

Still having a GREAT time here in Key West. Sailed for a few hours yesterday which was just gourgeous. Today I am going snorkeling and tomorrow is deep sea fishing. Friday will be a full day of sailing and then I fly back Saturday morning. I know, hard life.
I posted some more pictures of Emma. Enjoy. Anyway, back to some fun in the sun... Monday, March 08, 2004
So far so good here in Key West, except my digital camera is broken. I don't know why either. It must have got busted up on my carry-on somehow on the way down here. I am mega-pissed though because now I need to get a stinken' disposable camera and PAY FOR DEVELOPING! What the frick?! Anyway, that sucks, but at least the weather is nice. I've got some great stories just in the first day here. We'll see how the week finishes...

Now I need something like this. Very cool! Oh yeah, and Gorman finally update his site. It's about time!
WOW! I am sitting at Gate A74 right now of the Midfield Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport. I have never been further inside Midfield than the front entrance before and let me just say this place is AWESOME! For those of you not from Detroit or that don't know about the Midfield Terminal, it opened up not too long ago. Mostly Northwest flies out of Midfield. But anyway, there is a tram that is fast as crap and it feels like a friggen mall in here because of all the shops and the food court. I know, most other airports around the U.S. are naturally this nice, but for Detroit, this is great compared to what we had before (yeah Smith terminal!). Since I also bought my tickets on the Internet, they did this e-check-in thingie. Very cool.
Today I am flying down to Key West with a stop in Tampa on the way (actually gonna hang out with my brother George for a few hours while I wait for my connecting flight). I am going for my MSU Spring Break and I am actually going down there for a class, KIN 204, Great Lakes Sailing II. We spend about one and a half to two hours a day sailing with a bit of shore school in there as well. It should be a blast. I only know one other person going down there, so that should be a good chance to make some new friends. Oh yeah, and you might be wondering how I am writing in my blog at the gate? Concourse wireless baby! This little session is costing me $6.95. Even though I work in the industry, technology never ceases to amaze me. Anyway, should probably get some work done and then board my plane in about an hour. I will try and make a post from Key West, and I will surely take a ton of pictures to post when I get back. Until then... Thursday, March 04, 2004
This looks like a pretty neat device. Good concept; however there needs to be more storage capacity with a lower price. Just give it time.

MSU.edu users (and everyone else), please watch out for this new virus. I say more-so to MSU users because I have received five or so of these to my inbox today already. Just be careful what you open, okay?
FoxTrot is just great this week! Here's another great one...

Personally, I think MSU should put their money into their recruiting department rather than their marketing department, but that's just my opinion...

Ahhhh, the wonderful feeling of finally getting your tax stuff sent over to your CPA. I meant to get that done eons ago, but things have been so busy lately that there just has been no time. Oh well, it is finally done now. Now we wait to see how much the nice CPA says we owe...YIKES! I added up my miles though and for work this year I drove over 15,000 miles! Problem is you calculate miles from your office address, which is my home in Troy. If only my office were here in East Lansing! At $0.36 per mile though, that's a nice $5,400 write-off.
Anyway, State sucks at winning big basketball games (except that one against UofM). We lost tonight to Wisconsin which would have put us up for the Big Ten title for sure. Oh well, whatever, we'll just burn the couch next week...
Another GREAT FoxTrot today!

So I was HIGHLY annoyed with Average Joe 2 tonight on NBC. First of all, she went out with her date with Gill and asked him what he had hoped to gain from being on the show and whatnot, his answer was, duh...acting! So then she goes off to Brian's hometown and he woos the crap out of her. Decision time comes and I thought FOR SURE Brian was in the bag. He had it all except for the looks of course. Well no, it wouldn't be good TV if she didn't do exactly the OPPOSITE of what America expected. She went with her "gut" and picked Gill. Brian was heart-broken of course.
Now here's the funny part...the "twist". So she picks Gill and they fly off to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico and for a few days they have a great time. Blah blah. Well on like the fourth day or something she tells him that she needs to let him know something. She informs him that she used to date Fabio. Okay, so what? Well, apparently Gill didn't think that because he flipped and ended up leaving. YEAH, that's the exact same thing I would do if I found out some hot-ass chick I won-over on a show used to date Fabio. I would be like, "No way, and now you're dating me?! Fabio is SUCH a loser!" I wouldn't fricken leave this hot chick on this exoctic island so I could continue to pursue my modeling career by MYSELF. My conclusion: Gill is gay. See that wall you're sitting next to? Yeah, Gill is NOT like that wall. Not straight. Anyway, that's my beef for now... |
