I was heading into my weblog this morning to write about how it is SNOWING in East Lansing today. Yes, it is snowing. It is also supposed to be about 75 degress by the end of the week. Crazy Michigan weather. IN ANY EVENT, just before I logged in, I saw this message, this "special invitation" to be a tester in Google's new e-mail service called Gmail (see my post from April 2, 2004)! RIDICULOUS! I have wanted to be a Gmail tester since the day it was announced, and here I am getting an invitation out of the blue!!! So I called Mayer (cause I figured he would be the only one awake) frantically to have him help me figure out what my new e-mail address should be. After a heated discussion (two or three words spoken to each other total), we settled on the one below.
I haven't used it much yet as I have to go to class and work soon, but my first impressions are good ones. I plan on using it as a secondary e-mail account. I have posted a screenshot below. Feel free to write to me at that e-mail address. I am not going to link to it in my blog here because I don't want to get junk e-mail to that address, but you can see it in the screenshot. Anyway, time to shower. Wow, what a great way to start the day!!! ![]() Monday, April 26, 2004
Another great article about JetBlue. I truly admire this David Neeleman, the CEO of JetBlue. This is the way all companies should be run, no matter how big they may become...

Amazingly, I have already posted pictures from this past weekend in East Lansing. Good times had by all!
I also stumbled across this site the other day. Apparently it is a new Burger King promotion. Neat concept. Monday, April 19, 2004
I finally got around to posting my pictures from New York City. I also took another 100 pictures this weekend I will hopefully post sooner than later. For now, enjoy these ones.

Happy Tax Day! Yes, today is April 15th, the day you pay your taxes in the United States. If you haven't mailed them yet, you have until midnight.
I know I haven't updated in a week, but things have been CRAZY BUSY lately. With work and finishing up at MSU, I can barely find time to eat...seriously. The rest of the NYC trip went great. I will post pictures soon; I am almost done with the captions. From here on out though, no more vacations until I graduate. Time to buckle down. Speaking of, I need to finish working on this computer right now. I will post again soon. Until next time... Thursday, April 08, 2004
We made it! After a long day of fun in the city, we're finally back in the hotel relaxing, getting ready for dinner. As we got off our plane this morning, Prasad was there to greet us. He had to get on his flight after greeting us, but it was pretty ironic his gate was right across from ours.
After grabbing our bags, we found our driver Joe, who is awesome, and headed into the city. We dropped our bags off at the hotel, had some expensive breakfast, and hit the town. Joe took us down to Battery Park, which is in lower Manhattan. From there we bought ferry tickets and went out to see Lady Liberty. This is my fourth time in New York City (Jen's first), and the first time I had been out to see her. Very cool! After landing back at Battery Park we walked over to Wall Street and then on to Ground Zero. We then caught the Subway back to Times Square and came back to the hotel to clean-up and relax. I posted a few snapshots below for your enjoyment. Off to dinner now and then probably out to the bars with Prasad. I'll post again when I can... ![]()
Well, it's about 1 AM on Thursday here and I have to be awake in 3 hours. Jen and I fly out to New York tomorrow with my lawyers Rocky and Rae. It's a business/leisure trip. We land in NYC at 8 AM tomorrow and will probably drop our bags off at the hotel and hit the town. It's funny because we might actually run into Prasad at the airport tomorrow morning in NYC, as he is flying down to Atlanta for the day.
We are going to try and make it out to the Today show on Friday morning, so tune in and watch for us. After that, Rocky and I meet with a few other lawyers about mid-morning and to top off the night, we have Fiddler on the Roof tickets which should be pretty cool too. Don't worry, I have my digicam all packed so there will be plenty of pictures to post when I return. I guess I should try and get some sleep. I layed there for about 45 minutes a bit ago and finally decided to get up and surf myself to sleep. You'd think I would be tired considering I got only 5 hours of sleep each night for the previous two nights. Oh well, just got a lot on my mind I guess. Hopefully I will be able to relax a bit while I am in New York, but I doubt that will happen. We'll see. Until I post again, have a safe and enjoyable rest of the week and weekend... I posted some pictures from my trip to Chicago this weekend. I also posted a hilarious video of our $2 cab ride. Enjoy!

I read about Google's e-mail service they are going to begin offering in the NY Times the other day, so I decided to just type in the domain name and I found it. Looks like it is still in beta and you can't signup for an account yet, but as soon as you can, I am going to get one to use as a backup.
I am starting to worry a bit about Google. I know they are trying to remain competitive in the marketplace, but I hope they don't lose sight of what they're out there to do. Google is known as the top search engine on the Internet, delivering the most relevant results. I hope they don't pull a Yahoo! on us and try to be everything else. I have always loved the simplicity of their homepage design, and let's hope it stays that way. In other news, I hit 100,000 miles on my car last night. I was driving back from our indoor soccer game in Fraiser (which we won again; we are now 3-0) to East Lansing. I thought it would be more glorious than it actually was, but then again, it was just me in the car. I kinda expected fireworks and a marching band though. They must have been on vacation. I got an e-mail this morning saying my new digital camera is with the courier and should be delivered today. I am excited because I will have it for Chicago this weekend, but most importantly, my trip to New York City next weekend. My last digital camera died on my trip to Key West. :-( Anyway, gotta get ready for class. Who knows when I'll post next... |
